Automotive Paint Prep Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Paint Prep Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Overview
The role involves assisting in preparing vehicles and parts for painting, including inspecting for defects, sanding, and supporting the masking and painting teams to ensure a smooth paint process.
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts for paint defects
- Prepare vehicles and parts for the masking team
- Sanding vehicle or parts using proper equipment to prepare for paint
- Assist maskers and painters with all prep-related tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Some experience in an automotive paint shop or body shop setting preferred
- Must be able to multi-task while ensuring follow-up and execution of required tasks
- High degree of organization and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to assist peers, teach, help out, and demonstrate flexibility
- Must be able to lift between 5 – 75 lbs
- Requires moderate to high level of physical activity
