Talascend is currently seeking a Flight Management Software Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate high-quality Flight Management System core software and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software that meets performance, security, and scalability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality core software architecture and applications.
  • Integrate Flight Management software for new product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Test and integrate on test benches in labs.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development of Flight Management Systems.
  • Strong C++ or object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Strong software architecture and design development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in developing software for embedded systems.
  • Multi-core and multi-thread development experience.
  • Strong understanding of OOAD approach and concepts.
  • Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
  • Experience with software verification and validation using C++.
  • Strong analytical and software development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Shift

The expectation is a minimum of three days per week in the office, with flexibility as needed depending on assigned work.
