HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, safety, and minimal downtime. The technician will perform inspections, repairs, and recordkeeping to support facility operations and longevity of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on mechanical, electrical, and other systems in the facility.
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/Refrigeration systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, building interior/exterior, and related production equipment.
- Familiarize with equipment and methods for proper operation and maintenance.
- Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations and occupancy.
- Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order statuses in real time.
- Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Be available for call-in work and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of system design and applications
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial and supermarket refrigeration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
