Material Handler
Talascend is currently seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Sterling, Virginia.
Overview
This role involves performing a wide array of warehousing tasks at a production and integration facility supporting Department of Defense customers. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, inventorying, and handling materials to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Stock inventoried materials on shelves
- Pick materials for production orders and deliver to assigned points of contact
- Perform cycle counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies
- Package and ship products
- Assist with other warehousing tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and climb ladders
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hardware production environment
- Familiarity with MRP systems, preferably Costpoint
- Understanding of ISO, Quality Assurance, and Configuration Management practices
- Knowledge of Electrostatic Display (ESD) and materials protection
