HVAC Refrigeration Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Dayton, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment to ensure efficient operation and longevity. The technician will focus on troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on facility systems, with a strong technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration.
Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in assigned facilities
- Perform repairs and inspections to interior and exterior property areas, including fixtures, roofing, lighting, etc.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner while minimizing downtime
- Document past operating experiences and keep detailed records
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work orders for mechanical, electrical, and other systems
- Update work order status in real time and utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo
- Maintain a valid state driver’s license and be available for call-in work
Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
- Knowledge of system design and application, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial and supermarket refrigeration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
This position is based in Dayton, Ohio, and requires on-site presence with flexibility for call-in duties. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
