Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Overview

This role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems within a facilities environment. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, emergency responses, and vendor management to ensure optimal building performance and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Master diverse building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, fire life safety, and lighting through hands-on maintenance, monitoring, and repairs
  • Lead preventative maintenance initiatives by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing critical equipment components
  • Serve as first responder to facility emergencies and service requests, making an immediate difference
  • Execute electrical and mechanical repairs including lighting systems, ballasts, fixtures, motors, pumps, and plumbing infrastructure
  • Drive operational excellence through detailed maintenance reporting, precise record-keeping, and strategic equipment inventory management
  • Partner with vendors to optimize quality, pricing, and service delivery across facility operations
  • Monitor system performance through equipment readings and proactive adjustments to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure accuracy in parts procurement and maintain comprehensive tool and instrument inventories
  • Champion safety excellence through proper hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal protocols

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC's (or obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to analyze system operations, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with hands-on mechanical inclination
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety and environmental protocols
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to various tasks
  • Experience with vendor management and inventory control systems

This is a night shift position with on-call responsibilities 24/7 for emergency responses.
