Facilities Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Reno, Nevada.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety. The technician will perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance to support the smooth operation of multiple properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and corrective response work orders on mechanical, electrical, and other system components
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building interior/exterior features
- Inspect equipment and report on conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
- Update work order statuses and submit receipts in real time using CMMS systems like Corrigo
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment on HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform interior and exterior building inspections, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting
- Ensure all equipment is maintained safely and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Perform other duties related to facilities maintenance as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with strong HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair background
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
- Experience troubleshooting commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to perform hands-on repairs such as replacing compressors and warranty repairs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
- Knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems
This is a standard working hours position, with potential for after-hours and weekend work. The shift is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
