Talascend is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Tempe, Arizona.

Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist II is responsible for supplier market research, supplier evaluation, and obtaining documentation required for solicitation efforts. This role supports the completion of compliant FAR 15 subcontract packages and partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute FAR 15 subcontracts in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct supplier market research and evaluate supplier information to identify the most qualified suppliers.
  • Obtain and manage solicitation documentation, including drawings, supplier scorecards, and historical purchase data.
  • Support subcontract negotiations, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Manage key program suppliers and supplier relationships.
  • Develop supplier strategies that deliver the best overall value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement compliance and program success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, contracts & legal, business, or finance.
  • US citizen or US person due to contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • DoD procurement subcontracting experience with FAR 15.
  • Strong understanding of the DoD procurement life cycle.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS).
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with various subcontract types, including FFP, CP, CPIF, and TCPD.
  • Experience supporting or participating in negotiations with cross-functional teams.

The schedule is hybrid and available after 90 days on assignment.
