Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Tempe, Arizona.

Overview

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to ensure the contracting of materials and services that support organizational objectives related to cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. This role leads supplier selection, material quoting, and contract negotiations, while identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories and commodities.
  • Lead supplier evaluations, RFQ events, negotiations, and contract management activities.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, pricing structures, market conditions, and spend data to determine fair and reasonable cost positions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including operations, engineering, quality, finance, and program management to align sourcing strategies with business requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and industry developments to proactively address sourcing challenges.
  • Support supplier transitions and supply continuity planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, operations, finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or related purchasing functions.
  • Experience with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense federal acquisition regulations (DFAR).
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and sourcing strategy development.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD).
  • Proficiency with ERP procurement tools beyond SAP Ariba or Ivalua.

Shift

This is a standard business hours position; no evening or weekend shifts are specified.
