Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Wentzville, Missouri.

Overview

The main function of a maintenance supervisor is to establish, implement, and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported. They oversee personnel, materials, and equipment to support various initiatives and ensure operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support corporate safety policies, initiatives, and housekeeping standards
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and initiate corrections
  • Support plant in achieving safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost goals
  • Supervise construction and maintenance projects
  • Assist in implementing divisional and corporate policies
  • Maintain schedule and quality requirements
  • Implement safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Train, develop, and evaluate employees
  • Ensure compliance with local and national labor agreements
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to resolve issues
  • Implement planned maintenance activities
  • Complete work within budget, manpower, and timing constraints
  • Support safety, quality, and operational performance goals
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; technical training or associate degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of maintenance supervision experience required
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts
  • Experience with machine, assembly, and facility maintenance
  • Familiarity with safety standards and industrial environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Maximo preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in metalworking or manufacturing environments
  • Technical skills from other manufacturing sites beneficial
  • Experience with client asset management systems

The candidate must be willing to work any shift, including occasional weekend and holiday overtime. This role involves working in a noisy and oily environment with heavy equipment and robotic systems used in stamping operations. The position requires problem-solving abilities, mechanical inclination, and effective communication skills.
