Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Bedford, Indiana.
Overview
The role involves leading a team of skilled trades to maintain casting and machining equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. The position requires managing workplace safety, organization standards, problem-solving, and maintenance planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of skilled trades to safely maintain casting and machining equipment
- Ensure high-risk tasks are controlled and safety concerns are addressed
- Sustain workplace organization standards and conduct audits to maintain a clean, organized environment
- Manage business plan deployment boards, track metrics, and lead review sessions
- Use GM PPS and GMS tools for problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementing countermeasures
- Plan and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with technical standardized work procedures
- Verify training and qualifications of team members and perform monthly training checks
- Protect product quality through proper handling of material and escalation of quality issues
- Manage spare parts and materials to support equipment reliability and cost efficiency
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and support team development
- Utilize GM systems and plant procedures for work management, safety, and reporting
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Mechanical background or altitude experience
- At least 5 years of leadership experience
- Strong confrontation management and people management skills
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols and awareness
- Reliable and dependable with discipline and consistency in attendance and performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-pressure aluminum dye casting environment
- Knowledge of GM systems such as Maximo, Kronos, Cognos, Intelex, Teamcenter, SharePoint
- Leadership experience supervising UAW employees
The position involves working onsite only, with shifts typically on 2nd or 3rd shift, and may require some weekend and 12-hour shift work. The target start date is 08/06/2026.
