Production Supervisor

Talascend is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Kansas City, Kansas.

Overview

This role involves overseeing production operations, ensuring quality standards are met, and managing personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires maintaining communication with management and team members, along with supporting safety and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards within the assigned area
• Communicate department and plant quality metrics
• Escalate issues to management following escalation guidelines
• Implement systems to prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem-solving processes
• Use resources effectively to resolve quality issues
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management
• Understand and administer the agreements between the employer and the union
• Promote safe work practices and support ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping objectives
• Motivate, train, and develop employees utilizing standardized methods
• Ensure team members receive adequate job instruction training
• Make independent decisions with limited supervision
• Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and management systems
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Work collaboratively with others and motivate teams to achieve objectives

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
• At least 8 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Experience managing or leading production teams
• Comfortable with technology and computer work, including GM databases, UKG, GPIX, Excel, and other systems
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform job duties through relevant experience, training, or education
