Mobile Facilities Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Facilities Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Overview
The main function of a Mobile Facilities Engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple sites, primarily in the NE Ohio area. The role requires technical expertise in one craft area such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations, with the ability to be multi-skilled across others.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems to ensure standards are met.
- Travel between multiple facilities, ensuring proper function of all sites.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Comply with safety policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform checks on tools and inventory.
- Monitor quality and cost of external maintenance work.
- Follow safety procedures and recognize hazards, proposing safety improvements when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
