Senior Project Manager - Construction
Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Baltimore, Maryland.
Overview
As a Senior Project Manager specializing in industrial construction, you will lead complex projects on active construction sites, delivering exceptional results through hands-on management and strategic oversight. Your field experience, safety-focused approach, and effective communication skills are essential for project success.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of industrial construction projects from planning through closeout, maintaining presence on active job sites
- Oversee project execution, coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and client stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safety-first mindset
- Handle budget management, schedule coordination, quality control, and proactive problem-solving
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, translating business objectives into successful project outcomes
- Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence among project team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on project management experience in industrial construction environments
- Demonstrated experience working on active construction sites (not office/remote-only experience)
- Deep understanding of industrial construction processes, sequencing, and site logistics
- Proven track record managing complex industrial projects from inception through completion
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders—from field crews to C-suite executives
- Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
- Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) with a commitment to maintaining zero-incident job sites
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in high-pressure, fast-paced site conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent safety credentials
- Experience with lean construction methodologies
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam)
- Background in warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics facility construction
- Experience managing design-build or fast-track industrial projects
Schedule - Onsite at an active job sites during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
