Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and energy efficiency. The technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support smooth facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive and corrective work orders on mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems and equipment.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and production equipment related to assigned buildings.
  • Familiarize oneself with equipment and techniques required for daily activities.
  • Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
  • Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real time.
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, including HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of system design and applications, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial refrigeration, including rack refrigeration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • Availability for call-in work and willingness to be added to an on-call schedule.
