Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Providence, Rhode Island.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities to ensure efficient and safe operation. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to support facility operations, with a focus on energy efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities.
  • Perform inspections and repairs to interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
  • Conduct ongoing preventive and corrective work orders on mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and related building components.
  • Study equipment and methods to ensure proper usage and maintenance.
  • Perform facility inspections and report conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
  • Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real time.
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and be available for call-in work as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems.
  • Good driving record and ability to store vehicle at residence.
  • Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills across multiple systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing CMMS systems such as Work Order systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.

This is a standard business hours position with on-call availability. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
