Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Mechatronic and Robotics Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Windsor, Connecticut.
Overview
As a senior mechanical and robotics technician, you will lead service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support maintenance activities by designing solutions for challenging problems and managing projects, while mentoring and training team members.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Maintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems within the facility
- Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, and sensors
- Create and close out work orders with data on labor hours, maintenance, and parts used
- Maintain positive relationships across all operations within the facility
- Develop training plans for service technicians
- Develop work plans for emergency repairs of critical assets
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 lbs, standing, and walking during shifts up to 12 hours
- Travel up to 20% as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays
- 1 year of experience with PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- 5+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls
- 5+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, NEC, and industrial electronics
- 5+ years of experience conducting preventative maintenance
- 5+ years of experience reading blueprints and schematics
- 5+ years of experience with PLC programs
- 3+ years of work order management experience
- 4+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical fields
- Experience with robotic maintenance and material handling equipment safety standards
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields
- Previous leadership and vendor management experience
