Talascend is currently seeking an Agentic AI Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Reston, Virginia.
Overview
The role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced Agentic AI solutions, including Generative AI applications, multi-agent workflows, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for enterprise environments on Microsoft Azure. Collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams is essential to create reliable, secure, and scalable AI-powered solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation LLM applications for text generation, summarization, Q&A, conversational AI, and enterprise search.
- Develop advanced RAG pipelines utilizing embeddings, Azure AI Search, document chunking, metadata filtering, reranking, citations, and grounding techniques with enterprise data.
- Create secure integrations between AI agents and enterprise tools, REST APIs, relational databases, and event-driven services.
- Develop user-facing AI applications using React and TypeScript and supporting backend services with Node.js or similar technologies.
- Design and implement single-agent and multi-agent systems for intelligent automation, decisioning, and complex workflows.
- Build autonomous and human-in-the-loop agents managing tools, APIs, enterprise data, and workflows using modern orchestration frameworks.
- Configure agent behavior, manage prompts and tools, and implement resilient error-handling patterns.
- Define and automate evaluation approaches for agent quality including groundedness, safety, relevance, and citations.
- Instrument workflows for operational metrics using observability platforms and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and production-ready.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
- 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLM applications, or Agentic AI solutions.
- Strong background in designing and deploying cloud-based applications.
- Experience building front-end applications with React and TypeScript, and back-end services with Node.js or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and related technologies.
- Experience working with Agentic AI frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, or AutoGen.
- Experience evaluating and improving AI agent quality with a focus on prompt engineering, safety, and production feedback.
- Knowledge of LLMOps, CI/CD, containerization, observability, and AI production operations.
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs, secure integrations, relational databases, SQL, and data pipelines.
- Experience in enterprise, secure AI deployments with emphasis on identity, authorization, privacy, and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL data stores and ETL pipelines.
- Experience working with large-scale AI deployments in enterprise environments.
