Talascend is currently seeking a AI Agent Developer for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled AI developer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions focused on generative AI, multi-agent workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for enterprise applications. The role involves collaboration across teams to translate requirements into scalable and reliable AI-powered software.
Responsibilities
- Build generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation language model applications for text generation, summarization, question-answering, conversational AI, and enterprise knowledge search.
- Develop advanced RAG pipelines utilizing embeddings, Azure AI Search, document chunking, metadata filtering, reranking, citations, and grounding techniques with enterprise data.
- Build secure, reliable integrations between AI agents and enterprise tools, REST APIs, relational databases, and event-driven services.
- Develop and maintain user-facing AI application interfaces using React and TypeScript, along with backend services using Node.js or similar technologies.
- Design and implement single-agent and multi-agent systems for intelligent automation, decision-making, and complex workflows.
- Build autonomous and human-in-the-loop agents that interact with tools, APIs, enterprise data, and system workflows.
- Develop agentic workflows utilizing Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure AI Foundry services, or comparable frameworks.
- Implement configuration-driven agent behaviors, prompt and tool management, authorization, and error handling patterns.
- Define and automate evaluation methodologies for agent quality, safety, and regression testing.
- Instrument workflows for operational metrics and observability using platforms like OpenTelemetry and Application Insights.
- Build scalable, secure containerized solutions with CI/CD pipelines, health checks, and production monitoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience developing generative AI, LLM applications, or agentic AI solutions.
- Strong background in designing and deploying cloud applications.
- Experience with front-end development using React and TypeScript, and backend with Node.js or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience building AI applications with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, LLM APIs, embeddings, and retrieval techniques.
- Experience with agent frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, or AutoGen, including multi-agent systems and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Knowledge of LLMOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker and Kubernetes), and production operations for AI deployments.
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, relational databases, SQL/NoSQL, and data pipelines.
- Experience working in enterprise environments with secure AI deployments, including identity management, data privacy, and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating and improving agent quality through prompt engineering and testing.
- Familiarity with big data tools and ETL pipelines.
