Talascend is currently seeking a Cleanroom Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves supporting cleanroom sanitization processes, ensuring compliance with GMP procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized controlled environment. The technician will perform routine cleaning, data entry, inventory management, and support manufacturing activities in a regulated cleanroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Support cleanroom sanitization following established procedures for gowning and working in GMP cleanrooms
- Carry out routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleanroom sanitization activities in controlled areas
- Collect and dispose of non-hazardous waste throughout the cleanrooms
- Manage gowning garments and coordinate their shipment for laundering
- Perform non-routine cleaning, sanitization, or material movement tasks as directed
- Conduct basic data entry into company systems and logbooks following good documentation practices
- Operate routine equipment and perform tasks according to standard operating procedures
- Maintain inventory and reorder supplies as needed through effective communication
- Stay current with SOPs and training requirements
- Participate in safety protocols, wearing PPE appropriate to hazards
- Assist in general cleanroom manufacturing functions, organization, and housekeeping activities
- Support GMP compliance and improve processes such as 5S as directed
- Assist in ordering cleanroom sanitization and gowning supplies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cleanroom or regulated environment
- Familiarity with GMP, GDP, or cGMP processes preferred
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech cleanroom
- Experience with GMP compliance and documentation practices
- Knowledge of 5S and process improvement methodologies
