Talascend is currently seeking an Aerospace Test Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Clearwater, Florida.

Overview

This role involves supporting aerospace testing operations by conducting evaluations and validations of aircraft systems and components, ensuring performance and safety standards are met. The technician will perform operational testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of various instruments, circuits, and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests on aerospace systems and components to evaluate performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions based on test findings.
  • Work at a level of engineering troubleshoot and provide data for failure review investigations.
  • Determine compliance to test specifications using methods and procedures from drawings, standard work, and diagrams.
  • Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
  • Provide guidance to entry level production test technicians and support workers in executing testing tasks.
  • Measure medium complexity hardware.
  • Manage lab equipment inventory and provide feedback on lab improvements.
  • Document procedures and findings and communicate these to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an engineering technician or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace testing methodologies and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot at system level and down to component level.
  • Perform test station assembly, qualification, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and software tools relevant to aerospace applications (CIRTS, DEWESOFT, etc.).
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting to support engineering decisions.
  • Knowledge of equipment associated with test functions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, timekeeping systems, Solumia, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical background with experience in aerospace engineering processes.
  • Detail-oriented with good manual and eye dexterity.
  • Experience in leading complex system integration projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safety and quality assurance in all testing activities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new challenges.
  • Willingness to take on diverse projects and work with different teams.
