Talascend is currently seeking an Electronics Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Clearwater, Florida.
Overview
The Electronics Assembler will perform a variety of moderately complex assembly tasks supporting electronic products and systems in a production environment. They will follow detailed work instructions, industry standards, and engineering drawings to assemble, inspect, and test electronic components and final assemblies, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic components, wiring, and hardware into sub-assemblies and final products according to engineering drawings, schematics, and instructions.
- Perform soldering, wiring, crimping, and mechanical assembly tasks using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with IPC/J-STD and company standards.
- Identify and report nonconformances or defects to supervision and assist in corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records as required.
- Follow established ESD, FOD, and safety protocols during all assembly operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics assembly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent soldering/assembly standards (certification a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and written work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance if required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with small components and hand tools.
