Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Shelby, North Carolina.
Overview
The role involves supporting utility distribution design work, performing field inspections, engineering design, and calculations. The candidate will coordinate with various stakeholders and provide engineering support during construction, ensuring standards are met and conducting root cause analysis of outages.
Responsibilities
- Review work provided by the client and assess requirements of scopes
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to perform both field and office work
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, as some field work could be required
- Valid US driver's license for local and regional travel
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree or higher in engineering technology or related field (preferred)
- Power/Utilities industry experience (preferred)
- Previous experience with field data collection (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative attitude and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and locations
- Professional dress and demeanor
