Talascend is currently seeking an Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
This position involves working as an assembler or entry-level mechanic within a contract manufacturing operation, focusing on automotive assembly. The role offers an engaging environment with exposure to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Assemble products according to written procedures and specifications
- Use manual tools and power equipment safely to complete assembly tasks
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
- Problem-solve mechanical issues as they arise during assembly
- Support production goals by maintaining quality and efficiency standards
- Assist in the timely completion of assembly projects
Qualifications
- 1 year of recent hands-on assembly experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a US citizen
- Basic understanding of automotive systems
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to use manual tools and power equipment safely
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures
- Self-starter, self-motivated, and willing to learn
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attendance; willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous automotive mechanic or co-op experience
- Experience with automotive electrical systems
- Basic set of mechanic tools
