Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Buffalo, New York.
Overview
This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems across multiple industrial and commercial sites to ensure optimal operational performance and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems at assigned facilities.
- Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution, plumbing, and interior/exterior building components.
- Conduct facility inspections and assessments, documenting conditions affecting operations, and submit detailed reports to management.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including after-hours activities, to minimize disruption to clients.
- Operate and monitor building automation, fire/life safety, and other building-related systems while adhering to safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) years of technical experience in commercial building engineering with proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
- Availability for on-call duties and overtime support for emergency situations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, ordinances, and laws related to building operations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal certification.
- Knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and integration in commercial environments.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Background in service-oriented roles in property management or facilities maintenance.
- Relevant trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing disciplines.
- Ability to identify safety hazards and effectively address safety concerns.
This is a full-time position with standard working hours from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The role requires travel between multiple sites, including warehouses, garages, and office spaces connected to various buildings across the region.
