Talascend is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Theodore, Alabama.
Overview
This laboratory technician role involves performing laboratory tests in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures to support quality, process, environmental controls, and product development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist laboratory resource personnel
- Coordinate and analyze incoming raw material, in-process, and final product samples, determining their disposition according to quality standards and laboratory procedures
- Collect, deliver, and dispose of samples, which requires the use of a full-face respirator
- Maintain accurate and complete records of sample analysis
- Perform daily compliance checks
- Assist with online analytical maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Perform additional tasks outside of core responsibilities to meet evolving laboratory and production needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline; or three years of equivalent laboratory, industrial, and engineering experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management and production personnel
- Working knowledge of laboratory equipment, its function, and maintenance
- Good knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 90001/14001
- Ability to work with computers
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to perform tasks while using breathing air
- Knowledge in the following systems: LabWorks LIMS, Gas Chromatography, and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
