Talascend is currently seeking a Subcontract Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
This role involves leading the end-to-end cycle of FAR15 proposals and subcontracts supporting key government programs, with a focus on compliance, negotiation, and supplier management within a FAR Part 15 environment. The position supports the Mechanical Assembly Government Sourcing team, including training and mentoring team members and managing commodities throughout the proposal, fulfillment, and negotiation phases.
Responsibilities
- Execute FAR15 subcontracts in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable regulations
- Build strong negotiation positions for contract execution
- Manage key program suppliers
- Mentor and train team members
- Develop supplier strategies to deliver value to the organization
- Lead the proposal, fulfillment, and negotiation processes for government contracts
- Work closely with pricing teams to ensure FAR15 compliance
- Negotiate and place parts on contract within government contracting constraints
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, business, or finance
- US person due to contractual requirements
- Subcontracting experience (FAR15)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong negotiation skills and processes
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with subcontractors throughout all phases of the program lifecycle
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisitions Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Experience utilizing MS Office Suite, SAP, and other business tools used in subcontract management
- Supply chain and procurement experience within defense, aerospace, or similar industries
- Experience managing subcontracts FFP, CP, CPIF, etc.
- Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD)
- Ability to understand and negotiate terms and conditions
- Ability to work independently
