Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Kansas City, Missouri.
Overview
The main function of a facilities technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings. This role involves monitoring the facility to ensure safety, security, and proper maintenance, as well as troubleshooting various systems and performing preventative maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot power, HVAC system and controls, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain general & preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
- Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
- Capable of moving machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred 2-4 years of field experience; HVAC trade school will be considered.
- Familiar with chillers, water pumps, boilers, electrical systems, and possess capable computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage time.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
