Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for an opportunity in Columbus, Ohio.
Overview
The main function of a facilities technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings, ensuring safety, security, and proper operation of various systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot power, HVAC system and controls, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain general and preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
- Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested.
- Perform daily building system start-up procedures including fire pumps, water heaters, boilers, elevators, and compressors, as well as miscellaneous repairs such as painting and hardware maintenance.
- Analyze complex system issues using building automation systems, blueprints, schematics, pressure readings, and airflow measurements to identify root causes.
- Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for HVACR and chiller systems.
- Perform troubleshooting to determine equipment problems and execute efficient repairs.
- Maintain electrical systems including low and medium voltage power distribution and lighting systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and perform preventive maintenance for automatic doors, gates, fire safety systems, and more.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years of experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage time.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
