Talascend is currently seeking a Construction Safety Trainer for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Overview

The Construction Safety Trainer will be responsible for managing and delivering safety training programs in a construction environment, often in remote locations. The role involves developing training plans, supervising training personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to promote a safe and competent workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the project ES&H training program in accordance with company core processes, project procedures, and client requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain training plans, matrices, and qualification programs
  • Supervise ES&H training personnel, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation, supervisor orientation, refresher training, and regulatory-required training
  • Ensure training requirements are integrated into project execution plans, subcontractor onboarding, and workforce qualification processes
  • Maintain training records and databases, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, client, and project standards
  • Analyze training performance data and provide metrics, dashboards, and trend analysis to project leadership
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through audits, assessments, observations, and field performance indicators
  • Collaborate with construction, workforce services, medical, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and environmental teams to identify training needs and implement corrective actions
  • Support incident investigations with lessons learned and targeted retraining programs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to workforce competency, compliance, and culture
  • Possess current OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 502 credentials with a valid OSHA Outreach Trainer authorization card and experience delivering OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, education, or related field
  • 10+ years of construction ES&H experience
  • Experience developing and delivering instructor-led training on large industrial or construction projects
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and company ES&H core processes
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills
  • Experience with learning management systems, training databases, and compliance reporting
  • OSHA 500/510, OSHA 502, MSHA instructor certification, or equivalent training credentials preferred
  • Valid US driver’s license due to the potential for delivering training at multiple locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 502 credentials with OSHA Outreach Trainer authorization
