Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Nashville, Tennessee.
Overview
The HVAC Technician role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing facility HVAC equipment in an industrial/commercial setting. The position supports the ongoing maintenance needs of multiple buildings with potential for full-time employment in the future.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained
- Troubleshoot power, HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical systems
- Perform general and preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and vendor management
- Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as requested
- Operate, maintain, and repair air handling units, exhaust fans, fume hoods, fan coil units, reheat coils, and associated mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoot customer service calls for temperature comfort inside buildings
- Maintain accuracy of system documentation and support limited new installation projects
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field
- Experience with industrial or commercial HVAC systems (6-8 tons per unit or more)
- EPA Universal certification required
- Commercial experience required
- Electrical and plumbing experience preferred
- Proficiency in work order management systems (e.g., Corrigo)
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC controls and mechanical systems
The shift for this role is from 8 am to 4:30 pm CST, and may include some weekend work depending on needs.
