Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Allen Park, Michigan.
Overview
The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and on the bench, following blueprints, BOMs, schematics, and P&IDs. The role involves performing quality checks, assembling wiring, and collaborating with team members and customers.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests, and reverse engineer wiring using hand tools and proper techniques according to work instructions.
- Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles based on specifications.
- Test wiring and components for correct operation utilizing schematics and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, including crimping, soldering, de-pinning, and creating basic schematics.
- Maintain shop equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience installing components on circuit boards.
- Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
- Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, materials, and fasteners.
