Talascend is currently seeking an Inventory Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Odessa, Texas.
Overview
The Inventory Material Handler is responsible for managing the flow of materials and equipment within the warehouse and yard, supporting oilfield operations such as frac, wellhead, and flowback services. This role includes loading/unloading trucks, verifying and recording equipment numbers, cleaning and staging assets, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure operational readiness. This position requires accurate tracking of inventory within the system and may involve preparing equipment for field use.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks, verifying counts and inspecting materials for accuracy and damage.
- Accurately enter and track equipment and parts in the inventory system using basic computer skills.
- Locate, label, and stage assets for deployment or storage.
- Clean, organize, and prepare equipment for use in various oilfield operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., service, maintenance, dispatch) to ensure on-time supply of assets.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and yard area.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures in handling equipment and materials.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations; oilfield industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Proven, stable work history; frequent job changes (e.g., every 3 months) are not favored.
- Basic computer skills to manage inventory systems and track parts/equipment.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks beyond forklift operation; this is not a sit-and-drive position.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently without step-by-step supervision.
- Physically able to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed.
- Commitment to working safely and following established processes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
