Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production systems within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and energy efficiency. The technician will perform repairs, inspections, and record-keeping to support facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and response work orders on mechanical, electrical, and installed systems and components.
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, plumbing, and related facility systems.
- Familiarize with equipment and troubleshoot to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
- Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
- Manage work order status and document activities accurately using CMMS systems such as Corrigo.
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Be available for call-in work and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering.
- Strong background in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of system design and applications.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration.
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CMMS (Work Order) systems.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel.
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC.
