Talascend is currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.
Overview
This role involves designing dynamic loaded foundations for industrial and petrochemical facilities, applying advanced engineering techniques, and working independently to develop solutions for complex structural challenges. The engineer will provide technical guidance, prepare design calculations, and collaborate closely with clients and design teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze dynamic loaded foundations for various equipment including rotary machinery, pumps, fans, blowers, turbines, reciprocating equipment, and engines.
- Prepare design calculations, sketches, and construction drawings for civil, foundation, structural, and drainage projects.
- Work with designers to develop scopes of work and materials take-offs.
- Conduct drawing reviews and participate in project meetings.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and design teams.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and develop solutions accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years’ design experience in the petrochemical industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing dynamically loaded industrial equipment foundations and process structures.
- Experience designing tabletop structures for high-speed centrifugal compressors on piled and shallow foundations and fatigue analysis during ocean transport.
- Proficiency with STAADPro and MAT3D for dynamic analysis is preferred but not required.
- Educational requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
