Talascend is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in San Diego, California.
Overview
The Construction Project Manager will oversee various regional capital and facility projects, ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to completion while managing stakeholder relationships and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end solutions for the full lifecycle of assigned projects or project portfolios.
- Follow the client IDEA process for all projects.
- Attend client-requested training sessions and ensure compliance with internal systems.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and other professionals involved in project delivery.
- Develop and submit capital appropriation requests and purchase orders within established systems.
- Implement cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions to maximize project profitability.
- Lead discussions on capital approval and collaborate using client-established software solutions.
- Review and approve vendor invoices for payment.
- Oversee safety, quality, schedule, coordination, budget, and other project-specific tasks.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with end-users and facility management teams to incorporate facility system requirements.
- Organize and conduct meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct field visits to monitor progress and quality of work.
- Assist in mitigating project issues, delays, or disputes.
- Oversee estimating and scheduling for future projects.
- Maintain long-range financial plans for the campus.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in owner’s representative project management.
- 5-10+ years of experience working for a general contractor.
- Strong construction contractors background, with a focus on commercial or industrial locations.
- Mechanical background or related fields such as electrical or MEP projects.
- Proven project planning and execution skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with Excel and project management software.
- U.S. citizen.
- Ability to work full-time onsite at the client facility in San Diego, CA.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
