Talascend is currently seeking a Facility Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Maplewood, Minnesota.
Overview
This role involves managing construction projects related to large HVAC systems and infrastructure improvements within a facility portfolio. The position requires overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute the annual capital expenditure plan by delivering multiple concurrent infrastructure projects, including HVAC replacements, electrical upgrades, roof replacements, and building envelope improvements.
- Manage all phases of project delivery from design development through construction closeout and commissioning.
- Oversee contractors and construction teams to ensure work meets specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Control project budgets and schedules, proactively addressing issues to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate project activities to minimize disruption to facility operations and building occupants.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders for technical accuracy and cost impact.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control throughout construction to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
- Manage project closeout including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranty collection, and final acceptance.
- Track capital spending against approved budgets and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Technical understanding of MEP systems and project management experience.
- Organized and detail-oriented with administrative skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Experience in operations or facilities management, industrial maintenance, or trades background, particularly in heavy industrial environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
