A Talascend client is seeking an experienced Plant Human Resources Manager for a Direct Hire position in Baytown, TX.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Learn and follow all ISO processes and procedures
  • Implement training and ensure compliance to all ISO processes and procedures
  • Communicate & coordinate local and Corporate HR policies, procedures, regulations
  • Implement and follow Corporate New Hire process including new hire training schedule
  • Maintain current and accurate HR database in Ceridian and SAP
  • Accurately prepare and complete bi-weekly payroll
  • Administer health and 401(k) plans to ensure limited disruption for all employees
  • Track and approve invoices for benefit plans
  • Conduct exit interviews and record findings and make recommendations to management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
  • Effectively respond to employee relation issues
  • Manage unemployment claims
  • Manage Workers Comp Program
  • Manage Drug Free Workplace Program
  • Assist Activity Committee in managing the employee recognition program
  • Assist in recruiting process, scheduling interviews and preparing formal offer letters
  • Assist Regional HR Manager in the design and management of health benefit plans
  • Provide HR support and guidance for all managers as needed
  • Track employee attendance including vacation and sick time
  • Complete government recordkeeping and reporting for OSHA and EEO1
  • Work with managers to set employee training and development plans and track results
  • Manage Ex-Patriate program including contracts, relocation, visa process
  • Manage internal and Corp training and development program
  • Assist in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Organize and manage all recruiting efforts for local entity
  • Assist Regional HR Manager in managing Corp MPP- appraisals, people review and compensation

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree; Human Resources or related field
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Experience working at a Plant site, manufacturing or industrial setting required
  • Excellent mathematical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information with discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Customer service skills 
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Understanding of Employment Law and other government compliance regulations  
  • Ability to objectively coach employees & management through complex, difficult emotional issues 
  • Ability to make recommendation for effective resolutions to problems or issues
  • Demonstrate judgement consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law      
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize  
  • Ability to work with Human Resources technologies (Ceridian, SAP, internet, etc.) 
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint
