Talascend is currently seeking a Shipper for a contract opportunity with our client in Annandale, New Jersey.

Overview

The shipper is responsible for shipping materials and chemicals while adhering to various shipping regulations and operating forklifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related industrial maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping materials and chemicals
  • Trained in DOT requirements (shipping via truck/ground)
  • Trained in IATA requirements (shipping via plane/air)
  • Trained in IMDG requirements (shipping via ship/ocean)
  • Forklift operation
  • Valid driver's license required to operate vehicles
  • Physical and mental ability necessary to secure a Forklift / Powered Industrial Truck operator's license
  • General computer skills with knowledge in E-mail, Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel are a plus
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Potential exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and flammable or explosive areas

Shift

M-F, 7am-3:30pm
