Senior Instructional Designer
Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
This role involves reviewing, enhancing, and modernizing technical, health, safety & environment, and compliance training programs while collaborating with subject matter experts to update course content and support continuous improvement of learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Review existing technical, health, safety & environment, and compliance courses for instructional quality and accuracy.
- Evaluate alignment with current aerospace standards.
- Partner with subject matter experts to remove outdated content and references to obsolete corporate resources.
- Update and modernize training materials including presentations, e-learning modules, manuals, and assessments.
- Ensure content reflects current processes, regulations, and technologies.
- Develop engaging, interactive learning activities aligned with course objectives.
- Apply instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM to create effective learning experiences.
- Redesign assessments to align with aerospace-specific requirements and eliminate reliance on legacy corporate frameworks.
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure training materials meet aerospace standards.
- Gather feedback from learners and subject matter experts and integrate improvements into future versions.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in instructional design or a learning-focused discipline.
Requirements
- Experience in instructional design and training program development.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and learning management system platforms.
- Ability to identify training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
Preferred Requirements
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Creative and innovative approach to designing engaging learning experiences.
- Familiarity with emerging instructional design technologies and trends.

Hybrid schedule based on business needs in Phoenix, AZ.
