Talascend is currently seeking an Oracle APEX Developer for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.

Overview

This role involves supporting full lifecycle development of custom Oracle applications, primarily using Oracle APEX, in a secure government environment. The candidate will work onsite full-time in Washington, DC, collaborating with the team to deliver enterprise-level web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full lifecycle development of custom Oracle applications using Oracle APEX.
  • Perform advanced use of Oracle APEX 21 and above.
  • Utilize Oracle IDEs such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer for database development and management.
  • Design and manipulate dynamic web content using JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Create dynamic reports within the Oracle APEX environment.
  • Provide support for Oracle Database products version 11 and above.
  • Manage Oracle database objects such as tables, indexes, directories, sequences, and triggers.
  • Utilize PL/SQL, Java, PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting to support application development.
  • Support storage and manipulation of unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType) within Oracle databases.
  • Integrate BI Publisher templates and web services.
  • Analyze existing Oracle Forms applications and develop migration strategies to web applications using Oracle APEX.
  • Develop APIs and external application connections.
  • Deliver enterprise workflow-centric applications and automate business processes with logical functions and algorithms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, with 12–15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10–13 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
  • Experience with secure network programming in an Oracle environment, including use of security certificates and HTTPS callouts.
  • Experience with full lifecycle development of Oracle applications using Oracle APEX.
  • Proficiency with Oracle IDEs such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Strong knowledge of JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with PL/SQL, Java, PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting, including built-in packages and procedures.
  • Experience managing unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType) in Oracle.
  • Ability to establish goals and meet project objectives.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Agile development experience and customer interface skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Database versions 11 and above.
  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports version 10G or higher.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX 4.0 and above.
  • Previous government contracting experience, particularly with the DOJ.
  • Current DOJ security clearance.
