Boiler Tech
Talascend is currently seeking a Boiler Tech for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Shift: Fri-Mon, 6am-4:30pm
Overview
The operating engineer will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned facilities. They will assist mechanics, perform inspections, repairs, and general maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Assist mechanics with maintenance and repair efforts, and independently handle defined tasks.
- Inspect and repair interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
- Maintain and repair plumbing components such as toilets, sinks, piping, and water heaters.
- Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts.
- Maintain and document fire extinguishers and other building systems.
- Perform painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
- Prioritize work orders, update status in CMMS system in real time, and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, CMMS (Maximo), or similar software.
- EPA Universal is a plus.
- BAS experience and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified boiler technician is highly preferred.
- Experience helping electricians, plumbers, and mechanics.
