Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Louisville, Kentucky.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs their assigned facilities and the assets inside them, including supporting operations, inspections, and maintenance processes related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and food equipment. They assist mobile engineers and control system technicians, as well as train and support maintenance mechanics, in maintenance repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
  • Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors and pumps
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Perform general interior maintenance, including HVAC/R equipment, auto/overhead doors, and food equipment
  • Conduct rooftop, refrigeration, auto/overhead doors, and food equipment preventive maintenances
  • Perform plumbing repairs
  • Participate in on-call, after-hour calls as needed
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas
  • Maintain compliance with state, county, or city ordinances, codes, or laws
  • Adhere to policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Document work performance and materials procurement as directed
  • Support a wide range of conveyors and sortation systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as scanners, printers, scales, networks, drives in servers, and UPS systems
  • Identify, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs and PLC components
  • Assist mobile engineers as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to identify and maintain food service equipment
  • Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot control network components
  • Experience with motor controls, including motor starters, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components
  • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
  • Reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs
  • Ability to train others with lesser skills
  • Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Tools required to perform assigned work will be provided
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
