Talascend is currently seeking a Production Planner for a contract opportunity with our client in Rochester, New York.

Overview

This role involves managing inventory, generating reports, processing purchase requisitions, and overseeing indirect material ordering and inventory accuracy to support site operations.

  1. Generate daily usage reports utilizing Excel and GSC software.
  2. Perform daily inventory adjustments in SAP.
  3. Generate purchase requisitions for special crib orders and manage low inventory issues.
  4. Manage daily email communications related to purchase requisitions and orders.
  5. Process spot buy purchase requisitions and collaborate with purchasing to generate purchase orders.
  6. Adjust reorder and maximum inventory levels based on usage trends and production plans.
  7. Edit and organize crib pictures and manage HP printer supplies using the HP Portal.
  8. Coordinate repairs for crib-coded items, tracking items between suppliers and engineering teams.
  9. Resolve inventory discrepancies through the crib compare report.
  10. Manage receipt-in-process issues, including receiving discrepancies and PO issues.
  11. Handle purchase requisitions on hold, resolving obsolete items or design change requests.
  12. Manage open orders by working with suppliers and purchasing teams.
  13. Process indirect material new code setup requests and manage SAP/GSC codes.
  14. Oversee bulk gas purchase orders and manage blanket POs for fastener programs.
  15. Conduct annual control self-assessments to ensure inventory accuracy.
  16. Perform team leader training on indirect material GSC software as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of inventory management experience.
  • Experience working with large components in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with SAP, particularly in inventory management.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business or administrative degree/experience.
  • Accounting experience or mindset.
