Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems at a multi-building client property managed 24/7. The role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks to ensure building systems operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, and facility systems to meet applicable standards.
  • Perform predictive, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance, including equipment rounds and service requests, following the preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist with developing and improving preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOPs, and operational procedures.
  • Execute all duties in a safe manner, adhering to established work standards and practices.
  • Set up work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and work quality, suggesting changes to increase efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems to achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain time and production records, as well as customer service requests, utilizing various computer and technology tools.
  • Adapt to a wide-ranging scope of responsibilities while minimizing human error risks.
  • Foster teamwork to promote a positive work environment.
  • Control daily operations of all mechanical equipment within the building.
  • Maintain responsibility for preventative, contracted, and general maintenance, ensuring technical proficiency.
  • Complete tenant service requests accurately and promptly.
  • Evaluate building systems to monitor and improve performance and efficiency.
  • Comply with safety policies, including the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response.
  • Engage in technical and safety training programs and emergency procedures.
  • Perform all work safely, using proper safety equipment.

Physical Work Requirements & Conditions

  • Lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Working from heights, including climbing, bending, kneeling, and working overhead.
  • Adverse conditions such as extreme cold or hot weather.
  • Driving for long periods.
  • Climbing ladders up to 30 feet while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Working different schedules, including holidays and weekends.
  • Responding to after-hours emergencies.
  • Walking long distances within property areas.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; trade school education, union training, military service, or college preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in commercial or building maintenance.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or Building Management System (BMS).
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
