Sr Project Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Sr Project Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Overview
In this role, you will have a direct impact on the development of factory test equipment and contribute to the success of products related to laser gyros and inertial measurement systems. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of new equipment builds.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project building and validation of factory test equipment
- Develop and manage project schedules
- Establish new build processes for custom factory equipment
- Apply troubleshooting skills and knowledge to factory test equipment
- Integrate test solution designs into working systems for the factory
- Interface with vendors and suppliers for BOM development and parts acquisition
- Generate engineering documents such as schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 6+ years of experience in hardware design and development
- Experience with equipment testing and validation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Troubleshooting capability to isolate failure modes and implement solutions
- Excellent computer literacy
- Ability to focus on important information and identify key details
- Capability of following guidelines and ensuring efficiency on project tasks
- Application of basic engineering techniques to optimize product, parts, systems, or process design
- Clear and concise communication and presentation skills
- Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts
- Willingness to take initiative and proactively complete tasks
