Talascend is currently seeking a Laboratory Relocation Assistant for a contract opportunity with our client in San Diego, California.

Overview

This temporary role provides critical support during a laboratory facility relocation. You will assist with equipment decontamination and preparation for transport, as well as creating and posting signage and labels in the new facility. This position requires collaboration with colleagues and lab management to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant move process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform decontamination of biosafety cabinets, CO2 incubators, laboratory refrigerators, and laboratory freezers following established protocols
  • Conduct surface decontamination of specified basic laboratory equipment to prepare for relocation
  • Document all decontamination activities and maintain accurate records
  • Create laboratory signage and labels as directed by lab management
  • Post signage and labels in designated areas of the new facility
  • Support receiving and storage of lab supplies, consumables, and chemicals at the new facility
  • Report any abnormalities, damage, or unsafe conditions to lab management immediately
  • Comply with all policies and safety procedures
  • Assist with other facility move-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Proficient with technology (using Corrigo)
  • General lab safety awareness
  • Previous experience would be a plus
  • Time management skills and ability to work in a group
  • Ability to perform decontamination of laboratory equipment following protocols
  • Accurate documentation and record-keeping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in laboratory support roles, lab safety, or related fields
