Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Overview
The maintenance technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. They assist with maintenance efforts and perform defined tasks independently to ensure proper functioning of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts.
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
- Perform general interior maintenance such as HVAC/R coil cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, and kitchen equipment maintenance (meat grinder, cuber, meat saw, slicers, etc.).
- Carry out minor plumbing repairs.
- Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
- Be on call for after-hours emergencies.
- Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an applicable technical training program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work.
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, lift, and drive frequently.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Work shift: Day shift
