Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. The role involves assisting in repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as independently performing specific duties to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
- Perform general interior maintenance such as HVAC/R coil cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, and kitchen equipment maintenance (meat grinder, cuber, meat saw, slicers, etc.)
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs
- Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and other general maintenance as assigned
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure safety at work areas
- Recognize hazards and propose methods to eliminate them
- Maintain compliance with state, county, or city ordinances, codes, or laws
- Follow policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Document work performance and materials procurement as directed
- Perform duties and tasks assigned by managers
- Submit P-card receipts daily
- Update work order status in real time
- Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed
- Escalate problems or issues to customers and managers promptly
Qualifications
- Valid state driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work
- Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft., and demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Physical ability to climb, bend, kneel, lift, and drive frequently
- Willing to work in adverse conditions such as extreme cold or heat
- Ability to drive for long periods
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team
- Successfully pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening
- Flexibility with work hours and days, including availability on holidays for 24/7 operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an applicable technical training program
The position does not involve remote work and requires physical presence at the facility in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
