Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Cleveland, Ohio.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. They assist other technical staff and perform tasks independently to ensure the proper functioning and safety of building systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
- Perform general interior maintenance such as HVAC/R coil cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, and kitchen equipment maintenance (meat grinder, cuber, meat saw, slicers, etc.)
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs
- Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
- Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance as assigned
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, recognize hazards, and propose methods to eliminate them
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Document work performance and materials procurement as directed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Class B UST Certification
- Valid state driver’s license
- Minimum of one (1) year of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work
- Ability to lift at least 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening
